Poured on nitro, it showcases a stunningly thick, persistent tan head and a luxurious, velvety texture that belies its 11.4% strength. Expect a complex interplay of dark fruit esters—reminiscent of raisins and dried plums—against a backdrop of intense roasted grains. This beer delivers a round, harmonious experience where the significant alcohol warmth is expertly integrated, leading into a lingering, bittersweet finish of dark chocolate and toasted malt.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black color (40 SRM). The nitrogenated pour creates a dense, creamy, and exceptionally persistent deep tan head with a fine-beaded texture; high viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; dominated by a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder, and roasted coffee beans. Moderate dark fruit esters suggest plums and black currants, complemented by a subtle, earthy hop character and a smooth, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Intense initial flavors of dark chocolate and espresso supported by toasted malt and burnt grain. A firm bitterness (approximately 60-70 IBU context) balances the malt richness and high alcohol.
