Edge Slip is a vibrant American IPA that delivers a bracing sensory experience reminiscent of a crisp morning on the slopes. A potent hop profile led by Citra CRYO and Mosaic CRYO provides an avalanche of tropical fruit, blueberry, and bright citrus notes. This intense fruitiness is anchored by the resinous, dank, and spicy undertones of Columbus hops. A clean, lean malt base allows the hop complexity to remain front and center, leading into a firm, drying bitterness. The result is a balanced yet hop-forward ale that captures an exhilarating rush with a refreshing, pine-tinged finish and a smooth, clean fermentation profile.
Appearance. Color is deep gold to pale amber (approx. 7-9 SRM). Pours with a persistent, medium-sized white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass. Clarity is clear with a very slight, permissible haze from the heavy dry-hopping.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy notes of grapefruit, mango, and passion fruit. Distinctive resinous pine and dank herbal undertones emerge prominently. Supporting the hops is a low, clean, bready malt character. Fermentation is clean with negligible yeast esters.
Taste. An initial hop-forward impression of citrus zest and tropical stone fruit. The bitterness is medium-high and firm, yet smooth, providing the classic structural balance against a light, bready malt backbone. Hop flavors of resinous pine and subtle blueberry linger into a medium-dry, clean finish. The overall balance is decidedly bitter and hop-centric without being harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the concentrated hop resins. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp and refreshing mouth-cleansing effect. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but remains subtle and smooth.
