This Double IPA delivers a luxurious, sensory-driven experience defined by its namesake velvety texture and vibrant hop profile. A powerful hop trio leads the experience: Citra provides an assertive blast of citrus and lime, while Cashmere contributes a silky, tropical undercurrent of melon and stone fruit. German Mandarina Bavaria completes the aromatic bouquet with distinct notes of tangerine zest and sweet orange. Despite its 7.7% strength, the beer remains dangerously drinkable, balancing a pillowy, hazy body with a soft, integrated bitterness. The result is a bold, juice-forward ale that coats the palate in a smooth, hoppy dream of sun-ripened fruit.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange with a prominent, opaque haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tangerine, mango, and zesty lime. A supportive, clean, neutral malt character remains in the background. Fermentation is clean with very light fruity esters and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol note.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of sweet tangerine and tropical fruit. Bitterness is moderately high but smooth and rounded, lacking any harshness. The malt character is low, clean, and soft, providing a bready foundation. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, juicy fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth without any hop-derived astringency.
