Schwarze Rose

This Hazy IPA presents an invitation into a tropical escape, showcasing an experimental hop duo of HBC735 and Simcoe. The aroma leads with distinctive Mai Tai-ish cocktail vibes, delivering notes of pineapple and lime from the HBC735, while the Simcoe provides a foundation of resinous pine and ripe passionfruit. Its appearance is a radiant, opaque gold under a meringue-like white head. On the palate, the soft malt profile—reminiscent of fresh dough—supports a wave of stone fruit and citrus. The bitterness is restrained and smooth, leading to an off-dry finish that emphasizes the lush, juicy character of the hop oils and a well-integrated alcohol presence.

Appearance. Pale gold (5 SRM) with an opaque, hazy shine. The beer is topped by a thick, rocky, white head with excellent retention and dense lacing. No visible particulates or yeast clumps are present.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring tropical fruit cocktails, pineapple, and lime alongside passionfruit, citrus, and a hint of earthy pine. The malt is subtle and clean with a light, grainy, bready character. Fermentation is neutral with very faint fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical juice. The flavor follows the aroma with high hop-derived notes of stone fruit, melon, and citrus. Malt flavor is low, providing a supportive bready backbone. Perceived bitterness is low-to-medium and well-integrated, never harsh. The finish is off-dry and smooth, lingering with fruity hop oils.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. The beer is smooth without any astringency or raw starchiness.
