Schwarze Rose

Rainbow Road is a lush Hazy IPA that captures a Piña-Colada-like essence through innovative hopping and fermentation. The high-speed Kveik yeast fermentation creates a tropical base for the massive hop bill of Sabro Cryo and Hallertauer Sorachi Ace Nectar, which deliver intense coconut and ripe pineapple aromas. A whirlpool addition of Citra adds citrus depth. The heavy use of oats and a touch of lactose produce a rich, milkshake-like texture. It balances creamy sweetness with a vibrant fruit profile, resulting in a complex, tropical experience that emphasizes smooth mouthfeel over sharp bitterness, while remaining remarkably drinkable despite its density.

Appearance. Color is a deep straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). It presents an opaque, milk-like haze typical of the style, topped with a dense, rocky, white head that leaves persistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by tropical fruit. Pronounced notes of toasted coconut and sweet pineapple lead, supported by secondary layers of mango and citrus. A clean, grainy-sweet malt presence from the oats is noticeable, alongside a subtle creamy sweetness from lactose. Estery fermentation notes from the Kveik yeast harmonize with the fruity hop character.

Taste. The initial impression is a burst of tropical juice. Intense hop flavors of coconut, pineapple, and soft lime zest are front and center. The malt character is low but provides a bready, oat-driven foundation. Bitterness is low to moderate (approx. 30-40 IBU), serving only to balance the lactose sweetness without lingering. The finish is smooth and off-dry, with a long-lasting aftertaste of tropical fruit and cream.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a distinctly creamy, velvet-like texture from the oats and lactose. Carbonation is moderate, providing enough lift to prevent cloying. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated. No astringency.
