NEIPA - New England IPA 7.2 º
Pulse is a vibrant Hazy IPA defined by the rapid, high-temperature fermentation of Hornindal Kveik yeast, which contributes a background of tropical stone fruit esters. This expressive yeast base is amplified by a heavy dry-hop regimen of Citra, Cashmere, and a touch of Mosaic. The result is an aromatic explosion of ripe pineapple, lemon zest, and melon, anchored by a soft, bready malt presence. On the palate, the hop-forward profile delivers layers of tangerine and sweet peach with a restrained bitterness. Its signature pillowy texture and opaque luminosity create a modern, juice-like experience that remains drinkable despite its strength.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous quality. Pours with a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head that exhibits excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical and citrus notes. Prominent scents of ripe mango, pineapple, and lemon curd from Citra and Cashmere are supported by subtle blueberry and earthy undertones from Mosaic. The Hornindal Kveik yeast adds moderate esters of dried orange peel. Malt is low and neutral, presenting as fresh white bread.
Taste. Initial impression of intense tropical fruit juice. High hop flavors of tangerine, honeydew melon, and peach lead the profile. Malt flavor is low, providing a supportive grainy-sweet foundation. Bitterness is medium-low, soft and well-integrated. The fermentation character is fruit-forward, leading to a smooth, off-dry finish with a lingering essence of tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth and devoid of hop burn or astringency, maintaining a round and supple feel.
