This Double IPA showcases a vibrant, complex profile driven by a sophisticated dry-hopping regimen. The NZ hop blend The Bruce — comprising Nelson, Motueka, NZ Cascade, and Wakatu — unites with German Solero and Idaho 7 Cryo to deliver an intense sensory experience. Vivid aromas of pink grapefruit and punchy mango lead into a palate defined by crushed lemon-lime mojito and resinous pine. While the 8% ABV provides structural warmth, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable with a clean, neutral malt backbone that allows the hop-derived stone fruit and tropical notes to shine against a firm, crisp bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color with a slight haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of mango, pink grapefruit, and lemon-lime. Subtle pine and resinous undertones are present, backed by a neutral, grainy malt character and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and pine needles. The bitterness is high but smooth, avoiding harshness. A low, supportive malt presence provides a soft foundation, leading to a dry finish with a lingering hoppy and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present, without any perceived astringency.
