Schramm's Marionberry is a decadent Fruit Melomel that showcases the intense, jammy essence of Willamette Valley Marionberries. The sensory journey begins with an explosion of dark berry fruit, reminiscent of fresh preserves and summer harvests. This deep fruit character is masterfully balanced by the delicate, floral sweetness of premium Orange Blossom honey. At 14% ABV, it possesses a structural elegance where vibrant natural fruit acidity cuts through the rich honey body. The result is an incredibly concentrated, juicy profile that remains bright and lively on the palate, evolving from pure berry sweetness to a refined, lingering honeyed finish.

Appearance. Extremely dark purple, nearly opaque with deep garnet highlights. Still mead with no head or lacing. High viscosity is evidenced by thick, slow-moving legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity of fresh, jammy marionberries with a distinct dark fruit tartness. Clean, floral honey notes reminiscent of citrus blossoms from the Orange Blossom honey. No hop character or yeast esters; alcohol is well-integrated and smooth.

Taste. Initial impression is a massive burst of sweet, juicy marionberry. The honey flavor is rich and floral, providing a substantial backbone. High fruit acidity provides a vital counterpoint to the sweetness, preventing it from being cloying. No hop bitterness; some mild, pleasant tannin from the fruit skins. Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a syrupy, mouth-coating texture. Carbonation is absent (still). Significant but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. Low astringency from berry skins.
