Schönramer Imperial Stout is a sophisticated, contemplative masterpiece designed for slow appreciation. It greets the senses with a rich, high-intensity aroma of plum compote, creamy cappuccino, and cocoa. On the palate, the experience is exceptionally velvety, unfolding with layers of coffee-caramel and bittersweet chocolate. As the liquid warms, deeper nuances of dried plum and a distinctive note of smoky cherry tobacco emerge, creating a complex and harmonious profile. While robust at 9.5% ABV, the alcohol is expertly integrated, providing a gentle warmth that supports the decadent malt character. This Imperial Stout offers a lingering, elegant finish that evolves beautifully with every sip.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). It features a thick, persistent deep tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing. High viscosity is evident through the presence of legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and cocoa. Pronounced esters of dark fruits like plums and raisins are balanced by a subtle caramel sweetness and a unique hint of aromatic smoky tobacco. Hop aroma is very low.

Taste. Rich and multifaceted, featuring an initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and cappuccino. The malt profile is deep, offering flavors of toasted bread and dark caramel. Mid-palate reveals intense dried fruit character (prunes) and a firm bitterness that balances the residual sweetness. The finish is long and pleasant, echoing notes of roasted grain and cherry wood.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, contributing to a smooth, sämig mouthfeel. A well-integrated, gentle alcohol warmth is present without any harshness.
