This potent Double IPA delivers an indulgent sensory experience, layering intense vanilla onto a robust, hoppy foundation. The aroma is dominated by Madagascar and Papua New Guinea vanilla beans, evoking creamy marshmallow and vanilla sponge cake. These sweet notes are balanced by a vibrant hop profile rich in tropical fruit and bright citrus. On the palate, the interplay of Madagascar vanilla's richness and Papua New Guinea’s floral spice complements a firm bitterness. Despite its strength, the finish remains remarkably smooth, showcasing the brewer’s intent to create a lush, saturated profile that masks its significant alcohol presence.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper with a thick, persistent white head. Displays a soft, uniform haze with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent Madagascar and Papua New Guinea vanilla beans create a primary aroma of marshmallow and cream. This is backed by secondary notes of mango, pineapple, and orange zest. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean canvas for the adjuncts.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of creamy vanilla and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of citrus peel and stone fruit are high, meeting a moderately high bitterness that prevents the vanilla from becoming cloying. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering marshmallow sweetness and a soft, clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its 9.2% strength without any harshness or astringency.
