Nicely Toasted is a decadent Imperial Stout that delivers an evocative campfire experience. This high-gravity base features specialty malts specifically selected to mimic toasted marshmallow, rich dark chocolate, and honeyed graham cracker. The addition of Cacao Nibs and aromatic Vanilla Beans further elevates the dessert profile, creating a multi-layered sensory journey. On the palate, the beer presents a harmonious blend of bittersweet cocoa and gooey marshmallow sweetness, supported by a significant 10.5% ABV that provides a gentle, integrated warmth. The result is a viscous, complex stout that captures the essence of a s'more without becoming cloying.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40+ SRM) with a thick, creamy, deep tan head that shows moderate retention and produces dense lacing. High viscosity is evidenced by visible legs when the glass is swirled.
Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate, and fragrant vanilla. A secondary layer of honeyed graham cracker and cinnamon-like spice is present. Very low dark fruit esters such as dried plum or prune, and no perceptible hop aroma. The alcohol is noticeable but clean and sweet.
Taste. Rich and sweet initial impression, heavily featuring cacao nibs and creamy vanilla-marshmallow flavors. The mid-palate introduces a toasty, bready malt character reminiscent of graham crackers. Bitterness is moderate, providing just enough structure to balance the high residual sweetness without being sharp. The finish is long and indulgent, leaving a lingering aftertaste of bittersweet chocolate and toasted grain.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, contributing to the beer's substantial and comforting character.
