This German Pils offers a modern twist on the classic style, integrating vibrant Southern Hemisphere hops into a crisp, traditional framework. The sensory profile is defined by the tropical punch of Galaxy and the delicate floral and spicy accents of Ella. Nelson Sauvin provides a distinctive white-wine and gooseberry character that dances over a clean, cracker-like malt base. This lager is exceptionally bright and refreshing, finishing with the dry, firm bitterness expected of the style. The combination of these specific hops creates a layered, aromatic experience while maintaining the high carbonation and clean fermentation profile essential for a summer-focused pilsner.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a tall, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity featuring notes of passion fruit, peach, and crushed white grapes from Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin. Low grainy, doughy malt character provides a background for subtle spicy and floral notes from Ella. Clean lager fermentation with no detectable esters.
Taste. Initial light, grainy malt sweetness is rapidly overtaken by bold hop flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, and dried herbs. Medium-high bitterness provides a sharp, clean structure. The finish is crisp and very dry, with a lingering minerality and a pleasant, resinous hop aftertaste.
