American IPA 6 º

Saltus

This American IPA delivers a bold West Coast character, showcasing a vibrant interplay of Centennial, Amarillo, Citra, and Ekuanot hops. The sensory journey begins with a rush of resinous pine and fresh-cut grass, quickly followed by bright layers of citrus fruit, notably grapefruit and lemon zest. A veiled, straw-to-orange pour supports a persistent white crown. While a lean, grainy malt backbone provides structure, the profile remains decidedly hop-forward. The experience concludes with a classic, dry finish and a pronounced, clean bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate, inviting another sip of this refreshing, resin-driven ale.

Appearance. Straw to light orange color (7-10 SRM). Veiled appearance with a slight haze. Features a thick, white, and persistent head with good lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine and herbal, grassy notes. Complementary citrus characters of grapefruit and orange peel are evident. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness sits in the background. Fermentation profile is clean with no significant esters.

Taste. Leading with high hop flavor, mirroring the aroma with resin, pine, and pithy citrus. Low grainy malt provides a neutral base. Bitterness is firm and high. The fermentation is clean, leading into a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Saltus – Wey. Llega a nuestras estanterías Saltus , una micro gasteiztarra. Llevan poco tiempo pero han entrado pegando fuerte en el panorama craft. Actualmente están ubicados en el polígono de Berriainz, compartiendo proyecto cooperativo con otras micros de Euskal Herria bajo el nombre de EH Bier Koop .

No todo van a ser bombazos, Imperial Stouts, NEIPAs megalupuladas, etc. Saltus – Wey es una cerveza más clásica, pero con su punto especial. Una West Coast IPA de 6%, más seca y amarga, pero que además tiene la ventaja de no contener gluten. Y sin perder ni pizca de calidad.
