Salikatt Winter presents as a crisp, bright American IPA that utilizes a clean lager yeast to accentuate a delicate, light-colored malt backbone. This fermentation approach provides a pristine stage for the rich, saturated hop profile. Distinctive McKenzie hops offer bright grapefruit and pine needle notes, while Topaz contributes resinous depth and subtle tropical hints. The sensory experience is defined by high hop intensity balanced by a lean body and a sharp, clean bitterness. It avoids the heavy sweetness of typical seasonal beers, instead offering a refreshing, hop-forward character that finishes dry with a lingering, resinous aftertaste.

Appearance. Color is medium gold (7 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a medium-sized, white head that shows excellent persistence and leaves fine lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and light tropical fruit. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation profile is exceptionally clean with no yeast-derived esters.

Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus peel and dank resin. Very high hop flavor mirrors the aroma with McKenzie and Topaz providing layers of pine and spice. Low grainy malt flavor. Bitterness is firm and clean, leading to a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the refreshing quality. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 7% ABV.
