This Double IPA presents a vivid sensory experience led by a high-intensity hop profile. The soft, light malt base provides a neutral stage for the interplay of Comet and Mosaic Cryo hops. Aromas of ripe mango, passionfruit, and wild citrus leap from the glass, underpinned by Mosaic’s signature berry and stone fruit complexity. The palate follows with an explosion of tropical fruits and a zesty, grapefruit-forward finish from the Comet additions. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally smooth with a soft mouthfeel and well-integrated alcohol warmth, concluding with a clean, moderately firm bitterness characteristic of a modern take on the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Hazy and opaque with a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruits like mango and pineapple. Mosaic Cryo contributes deep berry and stone fruit notes, while Comet adds a zesty, slightly wild citrus edge. Low, neutral grainy malt character in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression of intense tropical fruit and citrus. Hop flavors mirror the aroma with prominent mango, berry, and grapefruit. Bitterness is moderately high but smooth and well-integrated. Low, clean supportive malt character. Finish is medium-dry and lingering with a hoppy, bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate carbonation. Features a light, clean, and restrained alcohol warmth consistent with its strength without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
