This bourbon barrel-aged Munich Dunkel presents a sophisticated evolution of the traditional dark lager. Despite its elevated strength, it maintains the classic bready foundation of toasted Munich malt, offering deep notes of crusty bread and subtle milk chocolate. The time spent in bourbon barrels introduces a refined layer of aromatic vanilla and charred oak, seamlessly weaving into the clean, dark lager base. A delicate roasted character provides depth without bitterness, while the bourbon integration adds a smooth, warming complexity. It is a harmonious blend that captures both the rustic malt richness of the style and the decadent, spirited nuances of well-curated wood aging.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with rich garnet highlights; features a dense, creamy tan head with excellent retention and light lacing; brilliant clarity.

Aroma. High intensity featuring rich toasted bread crust, milk chocolate, and hazelnut; secondary notes of sweet bourbon, aromatic vanilla, and toasted oak are prominent; very clean fermentation profile with no esters or hop aroma.

Taste. Initial malt richness of toasted bread and caramel followed by a smooth bourbon-forward mid-palate; moderate flavors of vanilla and oak tannin; restrained bitterness is low to medium-low, providing a malty balance; clean lager character with a lingering toasted malt and sweet spirit aftertaste; no harsh roast or burnt flavors.
