Soft Focus is a high-impact Double IPA that emphasizes a modern, saturated hop experience typical of Salikatt’s house style. The sensory profile is dominated by an intense bouquet of tropical passionfruit and bright citrus, driven by a heavy-handed combination of Vic Secret, Simcoe cryo, and Citra cryo hops. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains a smooth, approachable character with a soft, pillowy texture that balances the high hop saturation. The malt profile remains clean and supportive, allowing resinous pine and ripe stone fruit notes to take center stage. It finishes with a refined bitterness and a lingering, juicy fruitiness.

Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Large, persistent, off-white head with dense foam and significant lacing. Hazy to opaque appearance, consistent with modern juicy interpretations.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit (pineapple, passionfruit), citrus (grapefruit peel), and a hint of resinous pine. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt in the background. Neutral fermentation profile with light stone fruit esters and no solventy alcohol.

Taste. Dominant hop flavors of overripe mango, citrus zest, and passionfruit. Moderately high bitterness that provides structure without becoming harsh. Support from a soft, clean, bready malt base. The finish is medium-dry and smooth, featuring a persistent, juicy, and resinous hop character in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Very low hop-derived astringency.
