This decadent Imperial Stout offers a profound sensory experience, defined by a year of maturation in Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. An opaque, midnight-black pour releases intense aromas of dark chocolate and roasted coconut, seamlessly integrated with the sweet, aromatic lift of pure vanilla. The palate is exceptionally rich, layering deep roasted malts against the woody, spirit-forward complexity of the barrels. Nuances of marshmallow and oak tannins balance the beer’s inherent sweetness, leading to a long, warming finish where the bourbon character lingers alongside a velvety cocoa presence. It is a harmonious, bold manifestation of barrel-aged indulgence.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). Crowned by a dense, deep tan head with moderate to low retention, leaving thick legs on the glass due to high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and heavy roasted grain. Strong barrel-derived notes of bourbon, oak, and caramel meld with prominent roasted coconut and floral vanilla. Low esters of prune and raisin are present in the background.

Taste. A rich initial impression of dark chocolate and sweet vanilla gives way to complex roasted malts and toasted coconut. Moderate-high bitterness is well-integrated, balancing the residual sweetness. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of bourbon, charred oak, and espresso.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but lacks any harsh or solventy edges.
