NEIPA - New England IPA 6.2 º
McJuicy is a vibrant Hazy IPA that leads with an explosive bouquet of tropical fruit and mixed berries. The inclusion of Citra Cryo and Mosaic provides a foundation of ripe mango and bright grapefruit, while El Dorado Cryo and Meridian hops introduce layers of fruit punch and sweet red berries. The addition of lactose creates a lush, velvety backdrop that heightens the sensory 'juicy' sensation without becoming cloying. A soft malt base provides gentle bready notes, allowing the hop-driven citrus and berry flavors to dominate. This beer delivers a smooth, rounded experience with a gentle finish that emphasizes hop saturation over harsh bitterness.
Appearance. Straw to light orange color (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that creates a characteristic 'shine.' It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a saturated fruit punch character. Dominant notes of sweet berry, tangerine, and tropical stone fruit from the El Dorado Cryo, Mosaic, and Citra Cryo. A subtle, clean, bready malt presence sits in the background, complemented by a hint of sweet creaminess from the lactose. No herbal or grassy notes are present.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors echoing the aroma; citrus zest, ripe melon, and a distinct sweet berry note from the Meridian hops. The malt flavor is low and grainy, acting as a neutral canvas for the hop oils. Bitterness is low to moderate, perceived as soft and well-integrated rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and smooth, featuring a lingering fruit-salad aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, pillowy texture enhanced by the addition of lactose. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated. Completely free of astringency or harshness.
