Alaskan Mind Control is a luscious Hazy IPA defined by an extraordinary 55% oat grist, creating a dense, velvety texture that carries an explosive hop profile. The sensory experience is lead by a massive dry-hop blend of El Dorado, Citra, Cryo Pop, and Mosaic, resulting in a profile reminiscent of fresh breakfast juice. Vibrant notes of mango, pineapple, and bright citrus dominate the palate, supported by the house yeast's estery fruitiness. While tropical flavors lead, a subtle hint of resinous pine provides depth. At 6.3% ABV, it maintains a soft, pillowy character with a restrained bitterness that ensures high drinkability despite its significant structural thickness.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold with a saturated, opaque haze that gives the beer a luminous glow. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head exhibiting exceptional retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring a complex mélange of tropical stone fruit, zesty grapefruit, and sweet melon. Faint bready, grainy malt notes from the heavy oat content reside in the background, complemented by clean, fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. A fruit-forward explosion of pineapple, mango, and lime zest. The malt provides a soft, bready foundation without any caramel sweetness. Bitterness is low to moderate, well-integrated and never harsh, finishing with a lingering tropical juice character and a very light touch of piney resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full-bodied with a remarkably smooth, creamy, and soft texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a pillowy mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-hidden, with no astringency or hop burn.
