This session-strength Saison delivers a vibrant sensory experience despite its modest 3.8% ABV. Dominated by a generous dry-hopping of Meridian hops, the profile bursts with bright notes of mixed berries, lemon zest, and sweet orange. This hop-forward character is artfully layered over a rustic, grainy base of pale malts and cereal grains. Fermentation provides a signature peppery spice and subtle pome fruit esters, typical of the style. The finish is remarkably dry and effervescent, making for an incredibly refreshing, light-bodied beer that balances modern hop expression with traditional farmhouse complexity.
Appearance. Pale gold (approx. 5 SRM). Topped by a dense, rocky white head with excellent persistence and fine Belgian lace. The beer displays a slight haze, consistent with its unfiltered and dry-hopped nature.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Bright citrus and berry notes from Meridian hops lead the profile, supported by a classic yeast character of cracked black pepper and soft pear. A faint, cracker-like, grainy malt backbone provides a clean, rustic foundation.
Taste. The initial impression is crisp and refreshing. Hop flavors of orange and lemon peel are prominent, followed by a mid-palate of rustic, grainy malt. Fermentation character provides a spicy, peppery bite without being harsh. Bitterness is moderate but accentuated by the very high attenuation. The beer finishes bone-dry with a lingering herbal and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and lean. Very high carbonation creates a lively, effervescent, and prickly sensation on the tongue. There is no alcohol warmth detected, making the beer exceptionally drinkable and thirst-quenching.
