Jorvik Blonde is an exceptionally approachable and sessionable Blonde Ale, designed for effortless drinkability. It presents a gentle sensory profile defined by a soft, grainy malt backbone with subtle hints of freshly baked white bread. A light, floral hop character provides a delicate counterpoint to the malt, while a faint, clean yeast-derived fruitiness adds a layer of brightness to the bouquet. The balance is expertly struck between a mild bitterness and a smooth, medium-dry finish. This refreshing pint captures the essence of a traditional Golden Ale, offering a clean and crisp experience that emphasizes refreshment without any aggressive or harsh flavors.

Appearance. Light yellow to brilliant deep gold (3-6 SRM). Clear to brilliant clarity. Features a low to medium white head with fair retention and light lacing.

Aroma. Low to moderate intensity featuring neutral, grainy malt and a faint whisper of crackery sweetness. A light floral and spicy hop presence is present, mingling with very low, clean fruity esters and a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial soft maltiness suggesting white bread and light biscuit. Hop flavors are subtle, leaning toward floral and slightly herbal notes. Bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough structure to balance the malt without becoming dominant. Finishes medium-dry, crisp, and remarkably clean.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, effortless texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, though noticeably softer if served on cask. No alcohol warmth or astringency is perceived.

RUDGATE BREWERY - Rudgate Brewery was established in 1992. The brewery is situated at the heart of Yorkshire in the Vale of York.
The original brewery was situated in the former ammunition building of RAF Marston Moor Airfield which was home to the Halifax bombers that helped defend our country during World War 2. The name comes from the old Roman road of `Rudgate’ which runs through the airfield. This road led the Vikings along our vale defeating the Romans in their steps. This road and its history is what instigated the main theme of Vikings for the brewery.
The brewery expanded into a modern new facility in 2010/11 on the same site. Rudgate Brewery is nationally recognised with several awards to its name including CAMRA Overall Champion Beer of Britain 2009.
