Ruben’s Bavarian is a classic Weissbier that captures the refreshing essence of a traditional German wheat beer. Pouring a pale gold with a characteristically thick and persistent white head, it immediately presents the quintessential fermentation profile of soft banana esters and spicy clove phenols. The malt base provides a gentle foundation of bready, grainy wheat, which balances the yeast-driven aromatics without becoming heavy. On the palate, the low bitterness allows the delicate interplay of fruit and spice to shine through, leading into a light-bodied, highly carbonated, and effervescent finish. It is a quintessential, easy-drinking interpretation focused on balance and drinkability.
Appearance. Pale gold (3–5 SRM). Thick, moussy, long-lasting white head with excellent retention. Typically hazy with a soft yeast shine.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a classic balance of banana esters and spicy clove phenols. Supported by a light, bready, and grainy wheat malt character. No significant hop aroma, allowing the yeast-derived components to dominate.
Taste. Initial impression of soft bready wheat followed by balanced flavors of banana and clove. Very low bitterness (approx. 10–12 IBU context) ensures a rounded, malt-forward palate. The finish is relatively dry, clean, and highly refreshing with a lingering hint of spice.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a fluffy, creamy texture. High carbonation provides a spritzy, effervescent sensation on the tongue. Minimal alcohol warmth at 4.9% ABV.
