This American IPA delivers a bold, sensory-forward experience rooted in its New Zealand heritage. The profile is defined by an intense hop presence, offering vivid layers of passionfruit, zesty lime, and crushed gooseberry. Being unfiltered, it retains a soft mouthfeel and a slight haze that complements its vibrant tropical character. A clean, low-intensity grainy malt backbone ensures the heavy kettle and whirlpool hop additions remain the primary focus. The finish is decidedly dry and crisp, showcasing a firm bitterness that lingers with resinous and citrusy notes, perfectly capturing the brewer's intent for a fresh, high-impact hop showcase.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber color (7-9 SRM). Pours with a slight haze due to its unfiltered nature, topped by a medium-sized, off-white head with good persistence and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, citrus, and light resinous pine. Low grainy maltiness provides a subtle supporting background. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is an assertive hop-forward punch of tropical fruit and citrus. Malt flavor is low and clean with a faint toasted edge. High bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a long, hoppy, and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the lack of filtration. Medium-high carbonation. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle.
