This Specialty IPA, a collaboration between Round Corner and Rooster’s, presents a vibrant sensory interplay between bold American hops and a distinctive rye character. A deep amber-red pour yields high-intensity aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, and stone fruit, which merge seamlessly with a spicy, bready rye malt foundation. On the palate, the initial stone fruit and citrus flavors transition into a crisp, clean finish defined by a lingering hop bitterness. The addition of rye provides a subtle warmth and a dry, spicy complexity that balances the hop-forward profile, making for a refreshing yet assertive experience.
Appearance. Deep amber to reddish-copper (14–20 SRM); brilliant clarity with a persistent, light tan, creamy head that leaves decorative lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity American hop character featuring notes of grapefruit, mango, and peach. Supported by a spicy, grainy, and bready rye malt profile with low background caramel; clean fermentation with very low esters.
Taste. Initial flavors of citrus and tropical fruit follow the aroma, quickly meeting a spicy, bready rye malt backbone. High bitterness is firm but clean, leading to a dry and crisp finish. The aftertaste is marked by lingering hop resin and a light peppery spice from the rye.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation enhances the crisp finish. A subtle, pleasant warmth from the rye malt and alcohol is present.
