Despite its approachable 4.5% ABV, the beer maintains the classic hop-forward balance of the style. A clean, grainy malt backbone provides a light support structure without adding heavy sweetness. The finish is crisp and decidedly bitter, inviting another sip, while the fermentation character remains neutral, allowing the multifaceted Amarillo profile to remain the primary focal point.
Appearance. Medium gold to light reddish-amber with clear to slight haze. Features a medium-sized white head with good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent citrus, floral orange blossom, and tropical fruit notes. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Medium-high hop flavor featuring citrus, tropical fruit, and floral notes. Low, grainy, and slightly toasty malt character. Bitterness is firm and medium-high. Finishes dry with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation. No harshness and very low perceived alcohol warmth, enhancing drinkability.
