Anthora III is a decadent Imperial Stout that harmonizes intense roast with confectionery richness. The aroma is dominated by freshly roasted Georgio’s cold brew coffee and deep, bittersweet cacao nibs, accented by the aromatic, woody spice of Vietnamese cinnamon. On the palate, a lush, lactose-driven sweetness envelops flavors of dark chocolate and espresso, while the cinnamon provides a refined spicy heat that cuts through the viscosity. This is a velvety, full-bodied experience where the 9% ABV is integrated into a warming, bittersweet finish, leaving lingering notes of dark fruit and roasted grain.
Appearance.Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that exhibits moderate retention and leaves significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent with visible legs on the glass.
Aroma.High intensity. A complex blend of rich espresso and roasted coffee from the cold brew, paired with intense bittersweet chocolate and cocoa from the cacao nibs. Moderate spicy notes of cinnamon provide a woody depth. Low esters of raisins and prunes are present, with a background of creamy sweetness and a clean, gentle alcohol warmth.
Taste.Initial impression is sweet and creamy, leading into powerful flavors of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. The Vietnamese cinnamon adds a distinct spicy complexity that lingers. Mouthfeel.Full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a creamy sensation from the lactose.
