Inspired by Hawaiian juice, Paradise Pucker is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that bursts with a tropical trifecta of passion fruit, orange peels, and pink guava. The sensory experience is anchored by a grainy, soft base of Rogue Farms McKercher Wheat and Pilsner malts, which provide a delicate canvas for the lactic tang derived from yogurt-based souring. Distinctive notes of citrus and stone fruit from Amarillo hops and Liberty hops interweave with the lush, guava-driven aromatics. It finishes crisp and refreshing, with a bright acidity that highlights the authentic fruit character and makes for a lively, effervescent, and island-inspired profile.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, light golden to salmon-pink hue with a moderate white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Some fine sediment or fruit haze may be present, accompanied by light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh passion fruit and pink guava. Bright citrus zest from orange peels is prominent. Underlying notes of crackery Pilsner malt and soft wheat. A clean, tangy lactic acidity is evident, with faint floral and citrus hop notes from the Amarillo and Liberty additions.
Taste. The initial impression is a sharp, tangy sourness balanced by lush tropical fruit. Passion fruit and guava dominate the mid-palate, while orange peel adds a citrusy bite. The McKercher Wheat and Pilsner malts provide a light, bready support. Hop bitterness is very low, allowing the acidity to drive the finish. It ends clean, dry, and mouth-watering.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, high carbonation level. No perceptible alcohol warmth at 6 percent. Features a slight puckering astringency from the fruit acids and yogurt-based souring, but remains smooth and refreshing.
