Prodotto decisamente originale sia per le note acetiche e pungenti al naso che, soprattutto, per la sua sferzante acidità al palato. Il colore è rossastro tendente al marrone.Il cappello di schiuma è sottile ma compatto. Le sensazioni olfattive hanno riflessi chiaramente vinosi: aceto di vino, ciliegia rossa dolce e matura, frutta secca, scorza d’agrumi, vaniglia e caramello. Al palato è dolce e, allo stesso tempo, aspra. La carbonica marcatamente presente ed avvertibile, ne amplifica il profilo agrodolce e ne esalta il finale rendendo questa birra, nonostante l’ostica complessità ostentata nell’approccio olfattivo, assolutamente piacevole e beverina. Per chi ama l’acidità.

La Rodenbach Grand Cru se compose d’1/3 de bière jeune et de 2/3 de bière ayant mûri deux ans en fûts de chêne. Le résultat est une bière complexe caractérisée par une bonne part de bois et d’esters, vineuse, à la fin de bouche très longue, à l’instar d’un grand cru viticole.
