This Session India Pale Lager reimagines the German Pils through a modern Australian lens. At a sessionable 3.4% ABV, it presents a lean, cracker-like malt base that allows the vibrant character of Australian hops to shine. The sensory profile is defined by a bright burst of tropical fruits—think passionfruit and pineapple—complemented by a distinctively herbaceous undertone typical of Southern Hemisphere varieties. Though it follows the clean fermentation and brilliant clarity of a traditional lager, the bitterness is notably restrained, enhancing its high drinkability. It concludes with an exceptionally crisp, bone-dry finish that invites another sip, perfectly balancing Old World technique with New World hop aromatics.
Appearance. Straw to pale yellow (2–3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a tall, frothy white head that exhibits moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring clean, grainy, and doughy malt notes. The hop profile is forward and tropical, showcasing pineapple and passionfruit with a subtle herbaceous, leafy edge. Fermentation is very clean with no diacetyl or fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is of light, crisp graininess and toasted crackers. The mid-palate is dominated by tropical hop flavors and a mild herbal spice. Bitterness is low but sufficient to provide balance against the lean malt. The finish is very dry, clean, and snappy with a short, refreshing aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with high carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing with no astringency or alcohol warmth. It possesses a thin but smooth texture that enhances its sessionability.
