This Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer presents a vibrant, tropical sensory experience reminiscent of a spicy mango margarita. The aroma is dominated by succulent, ripe Mango and a bright, zesty Lime punch, underscored by a faint, earthy pepper note. On the palate, the intense fruit sweetness of mango is expertly countered by a sharp, lactic acidity and the citrus tang of lime. The Habanero provides a gentle, warming tingle that accumulates without overwhelming the fruit profile. Despite being lactose-free, the mouthfeel is remarkably lush and full-bodied, finishing with a crisp tartness and a lingering, spicy warmth from the chili peppers.
Appearance. Deep orange-gold to pale amber; opaque with significant fruit turbidity. A thin, white head forms but dissipates relatively quickly, leaving light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh, pulpy mango and sharp, acidic lime zest. The aroma is fruit-forward and reminiscent of a tropical cocktail. A very low, clean malt presence is overshadowed by a faint, earthy peppery note from the habanero. No hop aroma or yeast-derived esters are present.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of sweet, fleshy mango followed immediately by a sharp, refreshing lime acidity. The malt provides a neutral, cracker-like background. Bitterness is very low, primarily derived from lime pith and chili skins. A clean, lactic sourness balances the fruit sweetness. The habanero heat starts subtly but builds to a noticeable, pleasant warmth on the back of the throat. The finish is medium-dry with lingering tropical fruit and a spicy tingle.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a thick, pulpy, and almost creamy texture despite the absence of lactose. Carbonation is moderate and prickly, helping to lift the heavy fruit. A distinct, creeping warmth from the habanero is present, alongside a mild alcohol presence.
