Rock Brewery The Rock
The Rock is a vibrant American IPA that bursts with hop-forward energy immediately upon pouring. Its straw-yellow appearance belies a robust sensory profile defined by high-intensity aromas of citrus zest, pine resin, and tropical fruit. On the palate, a clean, grainy malt backbone provides just enough structure to support the aggressive yet balanced bitterness. The fermentation is impeccably clean, allowing the modern hop character to lead into a crisp, medium-dry finish. Refreshing and punchy, this beer exemplifies the classic profile with a focus on hop purity and a lingering, resinous aftertaste that invites another sip.
Appearance. Straw yellow to pale gold (4-6 SRM); brilliant clarity with a dense, thick, and highly persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent grapefruit, pine resin, and subtle tropical notes like mango. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Clean fermentation profile without significant esters.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of citrus peel and resinous pine dominate the palate. Malt is low and grainy-sweet, serving only to support the hops. Medium-high bitterness that is firm and clean. Finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
