This collaboration reimagines the American Lager through a heritage lens, featuring the rustic depth of Chevalier Malt. The sensory profile is led by a distinctively grainy and bready malt base, offering more character than typical adjunct-driven examples while remaining incredibly crisp. Opüs Hops contribute a sophisticated layer of floral spice and a subtle hint of orange zest, providing a modern British twist to the clean fermentation profile. It is a highly refreshing, well-attenuated lager that balances the simple elegance of traditional ingredients with a sharp, dry finish. The result is a sessionable beer where the heritage malt provides a surprisingly sturdy foundation for delicate hop nuances.
Appearance. Very pale straw to light yellow (2–3.5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a frothy white head that shows moderate persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to moderate intensity. Clean malt character featuring the rustic, grainy-sweet notes of Chevalier Malt. Hop aroma is light and floral with hints of orange peel and herbal spice from the Opüs hops. Fermentation profile is neutral and very clean.
Taste. Relatively neutral and crisp palate. Initial flavors of sweet grain and bread crust from the heritage malt are balanced by a low bitterness. Hop flavors are subtle, echoing the floral and spicy notes found in the aroma. The balance is slightly towards the malt initially but transitions into a clean, dry, and thirst-quenching finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that produces a refreshing carbonic bite. Smooth and clean without any astringency or alcohol warmth.
