This decadent Imperial Stout, a collaboration with Pühaste, captures the essence of a Black Forest Gateau through a complex interplay of roasted malts and rich dessert-inspired fruitiness. Deep notes of bittersweet chocolate and cocoa mesh with dark cherry-like esters, evoking the layers of the classic Estonian-inspired treat. At 10.5% ABV, it presents a velvet-like texture with integrated warmth. The palate is dominated by luscious layers of dark fruit—reminiscent of plums and cherries—against a backdrop of roasted espresso and black licorice, finishing with a lingering, bittersweet harmony of malt depth and smooth alcohol.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40+). Thick, creamy, dark tan head with moderate retention and significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent by the presence of legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder, and roasted espresso. Moderate esters suggest dark cherry, plum, and black currant. Very low earthy hop character and a smooth, sweet alcohol presence.

Taste. Intense and complex; initial flavors of rich dark chocolate and toasted caramel are followed by a mid-palate of dried fruit and cherry-like esters. Medium-high bitterness is present but well-balanced by a dense malt sweetness. The finish is lingering and bittersweet with notes of roasted grain and warming alcohol.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy.
