Riversa Stout is a classic Irish Stout that captures the essence of the style with its nearly opaque, jet-black appearance and creamy tan head. The sensory experience is led by intense aromas of roasted grain, featuring prominent notes of dark chocolate and coffee, with a subtle undercurrent of dried fruit. On the palate, the beer displays a harmonious balance between roasted bitterness and a delicate caramel sweetness. Despite its dark profile, the body remains approachable and light, facilitating a clean finish. The interplay of toasted grains and mild hop character creates a lingering, caramelized aftertaste that is both flavorful and refreshing.
Appearance. SRM 35–40; jet black with deep garnet highlights when held to light. Opaque. Features a fine, thin, and creamy tan head with moderate retention.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominated by roasted malt notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Secondary notes of dried fruit esters. Low earthy hop aroma; clean fermentation profile with no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial flavors of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. A moderate roasted grain bitterness is balanced by medium-low caramel sweetness. Hop flavor is low to moderate and earthy. The finish is moderately dry with a lingering toasted and caramelized grain character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; remarkably smooth with a light creaminess. Moderate carbonation. No alcohol warmth present at 4% ABV. Minimal grain-derived astringency.
