This decadent American Porter presents a complex layering of dark malts and vibrant fruit, shaped by over three years of maturation in Whiskey Acres and Green Briar bourbon barrels. The extended aging imparts deep notes of charred oak, vanilla, and spirited bourbon that interweave with the jammy essence of real raspberry. On the palate, rich chocolate and roasted malt flavors provide a sturdy foundation for the fruit's brightness and the barrel’s woody spice. It is a bold, velvety experience where the tartness of the berry meets the warmth of high-proof whiskey, culminating in a sophisticated, lingering finish of dark cocoa.
Appearance. Very dark brown to opaque black (40 SRM) with distinct ruby-red highlights when held to the light. Topped by a thick, creamy, tan head with moderate retention and significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a prominent blend of jammy, fresh raspberry and rich dark chocolate. Strong bourbon character follows with notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel from the Whiskey Acres and Green Briar barrels. Moderate roasted malt provides a coffee-like backbone, accompanied by light fruity esters and a clean, warming alcohol presence.
