This Ordinary Bitter presents an inviting sensory profile defined by its refreshing sessionability and bright hop character. A tempting aroma offers a blend of floral notes and light orchard fruit, leading into a palate where soft, bready malt meets a distinctive tangy citrus zest. The mouthfeel is light and approachable, supporting a flavor profile that transitions from subtle sweetness to a crisp, dry finish. A faint, pleasant tartness complements the moderate hop bitterness, enhancing the beer’s thirst-quenching nature. It is a harmonious example of a classic British pale bitter, balancing yeast-derived fruitiness with a clean, hop-forward snap.
Appearance. Light copper to pale amber (8–12 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It produces a low to moderate off-white head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a tempting hop character featuring floral, earthy, and citrus notes. Beneath the hops lies a low bready and biscuity malt aroma. Moderate fruity esters, particularly apple and pear, are present.
Taste. The initial impression of bready malt is quickly balanced by a medium-high bitterness. Hop flavors are earthy and citrusy, complemented by a tangy fruit character and moderate esters. The finish is decidedly dry and clean with a lingering, refreshing bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a crisp, thin texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no perceived alcohol warmth, making it highly sessionable and refreshing.
