Ringwood Brewery’s Boondoggle is a refreshing Blonde Ale that balances English tradition with vibrant hop character. Brewed with English Pale Malt, it presents a luscious, bready foundation that supports a complex hop profile. A distinct citrus punch from Cascade hops dominates the nose, complemented by the herbal depth of Goldings and the spicy, floral accents of Herkules and Styrian Bobek. The palate is defined by a moreish fruitiness and a clean, well-balanced finish. This sessionable ale provides a bright, approachable sensory experience, delivering a jolly citrus-forward character while remaining smooth, crisp, and highly drinkable for any occasion.
Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a pale gold hue (SRM 4). Features a medium-low white head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a bright citrus punch. Light grainy and bready notes from the English Pale Malt provide a neutral base. The hop character is multifaceted, showing grapefruit and lemon zest from Cascade alongside subtle spicy and floral undertones from Herkules and Styrian Bobek. Low fruity esters are present.
Taste. Initial soft maltiness suggesting freshly baked bread and light biscuit. The flavor transition is dominated by a fruity, citrus-led hop profile with a secondary earthy and floral depth. Medium-low bitterness provides enough structure to balance the malt without being aggressive. Finishes medium-dry, clean, and refreshing with a lingering citrus note.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation, contributing to a crisp and lively texture. Very smooth mouthfeel with no astringency and no perceptible alcohol warmth.
