This vibrant German Pils showcases a sophisticated balance between traditional character and fresh vitality. The use of Heirloom Pils malt provides a foundational layer of toasted cracker and doughy sweetness, while a generous addition of classic Noble hops drives the aromatic profile with assertive floral and herbal notes. Unfiltered for a fuller flavor profile, it maintains a snappy, refreshing edge. The sensory experience is defined by its crispness and a clean fermentation, leading to a dry, lingering finish that highlights the elegant bitterness. It is a refined, snappy lager that prioritizes drinkability without sacrificing depth of character.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (approx. 3 SRM) with a slight, natural haze from being unfiltered. It is crowned by a dense, creamy white head with excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of floral and herbal Noble hops takes center stage. This is supported by a medium-low grainy, sweet, and slightly honey-like malt character from the Heirloom Pils malt. The fermentation profile is exceptionally clean, devoid of esters or diacetyl.
Taste. An initial flash of grainy-sweet malt is quickly overtaken by a firm, clean hop bitterness. Flavors of dried herbs and spring flowers persist throughout the mid-palate. The finish is dry and crisp, with a lingering mineral quality and a snappy bitterness that invites another sip. Complexity is high for the style due to the rustic malt base.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a brisk, high carbonation that enhances the refreshing qualities. It feels crisp and clean on the tongue with no alcoholic warmth and a smooth, non-astringent finish.
