Nightfold is a luxurious Coffee Stout that masterfully integrates a Colombian Roast from Northumberland Coffee Co into a deep, dark malt framework. The sensory journey begins with an inviting, high-intensity aroma of freshly pulled espresso and toasted hazelnuts, underpinned by rich notes of dark chocolate and roasted grain. On the palate, the espresso character is assertive yet smooth, harmonizing with the bittersweet cocoa flavors of the base Stout. The finish is clean and lingering, showcasing a refined roast bitterness without harshness. It presents a sophisticated balance where the coffee enhances the roasted malt profile, creating a comforting, midnight-dark drinking experience.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40) with a thick, creamy tan head that demonstrates excellent retention and leaves consistent lacing. The beer is visually dense and impenetrable to light.

Aroma. High intensity aroma of freshly ground coffee and espresso. Deeply roasted malt character provides scents of dark chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. Hop aroma is absent, while fermentation esters are very low, keeping the focus entirely on the Colombian Roast coffee profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a rich, roasted coffee punch followed by layers of dark chocolate. The Colombian Roast provides a distinct espresso flavor complemented by a subtle hazelnut sweetness. Bitterness is moderate, balancing the malt depth with a clean, roasted finish. No hop flavor is perceived, resulting in a balanced-dry aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, luxurious texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the drinkability. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated. Very low levels of roast-derived astringency.
