This American Brown Ale presents a unique regional profile, incorporating locally sourced Castaña de Parede from the Balboa Valley. The sensory experience is defined by a toasted malt foundation that harmonizes with the natural sweetness and distinct nuttiness of the chestnuts. At 5.5% ABV, it maintains a approachable structure, offering an amber-hued pour with a soft bitterness. The profile leans into rich caramel and earthy undertones, balanced by a clean fermentation character. It is a refined, balanced ale where the specialty ingredient enhances the classic malty-rich profile without overwhelming the subtle hop accents, resulting in a cohesive, rustic character.
Appearance. Amber to light brown in color (approx. 18–25 SRM). Features a clear to brilliant clarity with a persistent, off-white head that demonstrates moderate retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring toasted malt and rich caramel. A distinct nutty sweetness from the added chestnuts is prominent, complemented by low earthy hop notes. Very low fruity esters and a clean fermentation profile allow the specialty chestnut character to lead.
Taste. Initial impression of toasted bread and light caramel. The Castaña de Parede provides a unique, lingering nutty sweetness that balances the soft hop bitterness. Mid-palate reveals light cocoa and woody notes. Finishes medium-dry with a clean, toasted aftertaste that remains smooth without any harsh roasted grain character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a crisp lift. Subtle alcohol warmth is well-integrated at 5.5% ABV, contributing to a soft and approachable mouthfeel.

Disfruta en tu casa de un sabor diferente. Según uno de los promotores, Enrique Fernández, destaca que la castaña “le da un toque dulce, y además un toque de color más tostado”. En definitiva “tiene un sabor muy rico” que recomienda probar. En su elaboración, que suele tener una duración de entre 20 y 25 días, se utilizan castañas secas que se añaden a la fermentación de lúpulo y cebada malteada.
