This Double IPA is an escape into tropical decadence, defined by a lush, double dry-hopped profile. Sabro and El Dorado hops take center stage, weaving a vivid tapestry of creamy coconut and bright pineapple that mimics a fresh Piña Colada. Beneath the intense island fruitiness lies a lean, neutral malt backbone that allows the hop-derived sweetness to shine without becoming heavy. The experience is vibrant and high-intensity, balancing the bold tropical character with the clean, firm bitterness expected of the style. It finishes dry and smooth, hiding its strength behind a wave of exotic, sun-drenched hop aromatics.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a slight, hazy sheen from the heavy dry-hopping. It features a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense tropical fruit aroma dominated by fresh pineapple and distinct creamy coconut. Supportive notes of stone fruit and melon emerge from the hop profile. The malt is a background player, offering clean, neutral graininess, while fermentation remains clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of tropical pineapple and coconut. The flavor is strongly hop-forward, showcasing complex fruitiness without being cloying. Bitterness is firm and high but smooth, lacking any harshness. The malt provides soft, unobtrusive support, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering tropical and resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite that offsets the fruitiness. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-restrained, with no hop-derived astringency.
