Revision Brewing Company

The Bruff is an assertive Double IPA that showcases an intense aromatic profile driven by Citra and Mosaic hops. The sensory experience opens with a powerful wave of ripe mango and tropical stone fruit, followed closely by bright citrus zest and a hint of resinous pine. A base of wheat and flaked oats provides a smooth, soft foundation that supports the high hopping rate without adding cloying sweetness. On the palate, the bitterness is firm yet refined, leading into a clean, dry finish where the vibrant hop character lingers. This beer balances its 8% ABV with remarkable drinkability and a refreshing, hop-forward intensity.

Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper in color (SRM 7-10) with a slight haze from the wheat and oat additions. Features a moderate-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of mango, passionfruit, and tangerine zest. A supportive, clean, neutral maltiness with light grainy wheat notes resides in the background, accompanied by a very low, clean alcohol presence and minimal fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-dominant with explosive flavors of grapefruit and tropical mango. A low to medium supportive malt character provides a soft, bread-like quality. Bitterness is moderately high but remains smooth and lacking harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous and citrusy hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably smooth, almost creamy texture derived from flaked oats. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crispness that cuts through the weight. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, without any astringency.
