This velvety Double IPA offers an immersive sensory experience led by an ambitious hop profile of Nelson, Superdelic, and Citra. The aroma is an intense rush of crushed white grapes and passionfruit, layered with a unique candy-like red fruit character driven by the Superdelic hops. On the palate, a smooth, medium-full body carries vibrant flavors of lime zest and ripe mango, balanced by a clean, neutral malt backbone. Despite its 9.7% strength, the alcohol presents as a refined warmth rather than a sharp bite. It finishes impressively dry with a lingering, resinous bitterness that invites another sip, perfectly capturing the bold spirit of a modern Triple IPA.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Features a slight haze consistent with heavy dry-hopping. Produces a moderate-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent white wine, gooseberry, and crushed grape notes from Nelson. Superdelic contributes distinct tropical candy and red berry esters, while Citra adds bright grapefruit and lime. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, accompanied by a soft, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of tropical fruit and citrus. Malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft, crackery base for the complex hop profile of white grape, passionfruit, and melon. Bitterness is high but exceptionally smooth, lacking any harshness. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, fruity, and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a velvety, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
