This Double IPA presents a monumental sensory profile driven by a massive hop load of Nelson, Citra, and Galaxy. Expect an explosion of white grape and crushed gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin, complemented by vibrant grapefruit and lime zest from the Citra. The Galaxy hops contribute deep tropical notes of passion fruit and peach. The use of Nelson Cryo and Citra Cryo amplifies these aromatics while maintaining a clean, resinous intensity without harshness. Beneath this vibrant hop canopy, a soft, neutral malt base provides bready support. Despite its hazy appearance and plush mouthfeel, the beer finishes with a refreshing dryness and well-integrated warmth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque and hazy with a thick, persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring pungent passion fruit, crushed white grapes, gooseberry, and bright citrus oils. Low, supportive grainy malt character in the background with a clean, neutral fermentation profile and no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors. The palate follows the aroma with dominant notes of peach, grapefruit, and vinous white grape. Low, soft bready malt character. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth and lacking harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a long, fruity, and slightly resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth and well-integrated alcohol warmth with no hop-derived astringency.
