This Double IPA radiates an intense sensory profile driven by a heavy-handed trio of Nectaron, Mosaic, and Citra hops. The experience is defined by a dense, tropical bouquet where Nectaron provides vivid stone fruit and peach layers, supported by the signature grapefruit and lime of Citra and the complex blueberry and earthy resin of Mosaic. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains a smooth, modern drinkability with a softened bitterness typical of hazy interpretations. It balances a clean, pale malt base against an explosion of juice-forward hop character, finishing with a crisp, lingering citrus zest.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque haze with a thick, persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring peach, nectarine, and passion fruit from Nectaron. Layers of grapefruit and lemon zest from Citra mix with ripe berry and a hint of dank pine from Mosaic. Very low, clean, grainy malt in the background.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent flavors of stone fruit, mango, and tangerine. Moderate to firm bitterness that is smooth rather than sharp. Minimal malt sweetness, favoring a clean, bready foundation. Finishes dry and fruity with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the fruit perception without being hot or solventy.
