Return Brewing’s Satin Jacket is a sophisticated Munich Dunkel that showcases the depth of Bohemian floor-malted grains, including Pilsner, Wheat, and Dark malts. This under-modified grain bill creates a rich, bready foundation entirely free of harshness. The sensory profile is defined by mellow layers of milk chocolate and caramel, accented by a subtle, smooth coffee note that never veers into acrid roastiness. Its clean lager fermentation ensures the malt remains the protagonist, while a soft, creamy texture lives up to its name. Finishing medium-dry with a lingering toasted crust character, it remains exceptionally gulpable despite its complex mahogany appearance.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with garnet highlights (20-25 SRM). Dense, creamy, tan head with excellent retention and light lacing. Generally clear when held to light.
Aroma. Moderate-high malt richness reminiscent of toasted bread crusts and nuts. Nuances of caramel and milk chocolate are present, accompanied by a clean fermentation profile devoid of esters or diacetyl. Hop aroma is absent.
