Reptilian Niu De Corbs is a potent Imperial Black IPA that melds the aggressive bitterness of a Double IPA with a dark, complex adjunct profile. Deep roasted notes are punctuated by the bright, tart essence of raspberries and the delicate perfume of elderflower. While honey and maple syrup add a hint of mid-palate richness, they ferment out to maintain the style’s characteristic dry finish. Earthy licorice complements the intense resinous hop character, creating a multi-layered experience. At 10.2% ABV, it delivers a smooth, substantial warmth that balances the firm bitterness and dark berry tartness.

Appearance. Opaque ebony (35+ SRM) with deep mahogany highlights. Topped by a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy tan head that leaves significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics featuring prominent resinous and citrus hop character layered with tart raspberry and floral elderflower. A supportive, toasted malt background with light chocolate notes is accented by earthy licorice and a faint woody sweetness from maple syrup. Clean, noticeable alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression is a complex strike of firm hop bitterness and tart berry acidity. Strong hop flavors of pine and citrus are supported by a clean, toasty malt character with hints of cocoa. Licorice adds spicy depth while honey and maple syrup provide a perceived roundness without residual heaviness. Finishes medium-dry and clean with a lingering hoppy, bitter, and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Significant but well-integrated and restrained alcohol warmth. No harsh hop-derived or roasted astringency.
