Parallel Parking, a collaboration between Budapest’s Reketye and New York’s Finback Brewery, delivers a vibrant sensory experience centered on a lush, juicy profile. The aromatic profile is dominated by the explosive interaction of Citra, Riwaka, and Mosaic hops, offering layers of pink grapefruit, tropical passionfruit, and ripe mango. This Double IPA balances its 7.5% strength with a lean, supportive malt backbone that stays out of the way of the hop-driven character. The finish is remarkably clean and dry, showcasing bright tropical intensity and firm bitterness, providing high drinkability despite its potent hop charge and modern, fruit-forward intent.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a tall, dense, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring distinct notes of citrus peel from Citra, pungent tropical passionfruit from Riwaka, and a complex berry-meets-pine undertone from Mosaic. Background malt is low, offering a neutral, crackery scent with a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit and citrus oils. A firm, moderately high bitterness provides structure without being harsh or astringent. Malt flavor is low and clean, reminiscent of white bread. The finish is medium-dry and crisp, leaving a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste with minimal residual sugar.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall richness without any solventy harshness.
