This collaboration with Mad Scientist delivers an intense Hazy IPA experience centered around the vibrant expression of New Zealand's The Bruce hop blend. Pouring with an opaque, luminous glow, it unleashes a tropical storm of ripe passion fruit, sweet mango, and freshly crushed gooseberries. Despite its formidable strength, the dense, velvety body glides effortlessly across the palate, balancing lush, doughy malts with a gentle, soft bitterness. It finishes clean and remarkably smooth, leaving a lingering trail of sweet citrus and white wine notes that mask its warming strength under layers of pure, juicy hop saturation.
Appearance. Glowing, deep straw to light apricot-gold (SRM 4-6). Opaque with a uniform, luminous haze that gives the beer a vibrant shine, free of any visible yeast clumps or particulate floaters. Crowns with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves dense, sticky lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High to intense aroma dominated by tropical and stone fruits. Prominent notes of ripe mango, passion fruit, gooseberry, and white grape from the hops. Supported by a clean, doughy, and lightly bready malt backbone with a hint of sweet oats. Esters are pleasantly fruity and blend seamlessly with the hop profile. No diacetyl, DMS, or green hop burn.
Taste. Opens with an explosion of juicy tropical fruit flavors, featuring sweet pineapple, peach nectar, and citrus oil. The malt flavor is low to moderate, presenting a soft, bready, oat-like character that provides a cushioned canvas. Hop bitterness is low to medium-low, soft, and completely devoid of harshness or astringency, balancing the off-dry, fruit-forward profile. The finish is remarkably smooth and soft, leaving a lingering, juice-like aftertaste of sweet citrus and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full-bodied with a plush, velvety, and soft texture. Carbonation is moderate and gentle, enhancing the beer's smooth, cream-like delivery. A light, clean alcohol warmth is present but beautifully integrated, avoiding any hot or solventy character. Entirely free of hop burn or astringency.
